Servings: 6 Cruffins

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese optional
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley or Italian herbs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

Method

  1. Prepare the garlic butter:
  2. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, pepper, and parmesan if using.
  3. Prepare the puff pastry:
  4. Unroll the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Brush the entire surface with the garlic butter mixture.
  5. Add the cheese:
  6. Sprinkle mozzarella evenly over the pastry sheet.
  7. Roll and slice:
  8. Roll the pastry tightly into a log (like a cinnamon roll). Slice the log lengthwise into long strips, then twist each strip.
  9. Shape the cruffins:
  10. Roll each twisted strip into a spiral and place it into a greased muffin tin.
  11. Bake:
  12. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, or until golden, puffed, and crispy.
  13. Finish:
  14. Brush with extra garlic butter while warm and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra cheesiness, add cheddar or provolone inside the filling.
Don’t overstuff with cheese—too much can leak during baking.
Use parchment liners for easy removal from the muffin tin.
These cruffins are best served warm but can be reheated in the oven for 5 minutes.
Add chili flakes for a spicy version.
