  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water

  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • Cooked white rice or lo mein noodles for serving
  • Sesame seeds or green onions for garnish (optional)

Method

  1. Make the Sauce:
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, cornstarch, oyster sauce, and rice vinegar. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Broccoli:
  4. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Blanch broccoli for 1–2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.

  11. Serve:
  12. Serve hot over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

  • Beef options: Use flank steak, sirloin, or eye of round steak. Slice thinly across the grain for tenderness.
  • Low-carb option: Serve with cauliflower rice or extra broccoli for a lighter meal.
  • No oyster sauce? Add a splash more soy sauce and a dash of honey.
  • Meal prep tip: Cook rice ahead of time and refrigerate — this dish reheats beautifully for quick lunches!
  • Add veggies: Bell peppers, snap peas, or mushrooms make tasty additions for color and crunch.
