Ingredients
  

  • Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • Cinnamon Filling
  • cup melted butter
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 ½ tbsp ground cinnamon
  • Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 –3 tbsp milk

Method
 

  1. Beat butter and sugar until fluffy; mix in the egg.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the butter mixture. Add milk until dough is soft but not sticky.
  3. Roll into a ¼-inch thick rectangle.
  4. Spread melted butter; sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Roll tightly into a log, wrap, and chill 30–45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice into ½-inch rounds.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes until edges set.
  8. Whisk powdered sugar with milk and drizzle over warm cookies.

Notes

Chilling prevents spreading and keeps spirals neat.
Remove cookies before they brown heavily — they firm up as they cool.
Freeze dough logs or baked cookies (unglazed) for easy prep ahead.
