Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches

These Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches are made with slow-cooked, tender beef in a rich onion au jus, piled onto toasted rolls with melted cheese. An easy slow cooker dinner perfect for family meals and casual gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 –4 lb chuck roast
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 6 hoagie or French rolls
  • 6 slices provolone or Swiss cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method
 

  1. Add onions and garlic to the crockpot. Place chuck roast on top.
  2. Pour in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, au jus mix, and onion soup mix.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours.
  4. Shred beef and return to the broth.
  5. Butter and toast rolls. Fill with beef and top with cheese.
  6. Broil briefly until cheese melts.
  7. Serve with au jus from the crockpot for dipping.

Notes

Toast bread to prevent sogginess.
Skim fat from broth before serving.
Add mushrooms for extra flavor.
