Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ lbs beef sirloin or flank steak thinly sliced
  • 3 cups broccoli florets fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar or honey for a clean-eating option
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup water
  • Cooked white or brown rice for serving
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions for garnish

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Prepare the Sauce
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until smooth.
  3. Step 2: Add to the Crock Pot
  4. Place the sliced beef in the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over it. Stir gently to coat the beef evenly.
  5. Step 3: Slow Cook
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the beef becomes tender and flavorful.
  7. Step 4: Thicken the Sauce
  8. In a small bowl, whisk cornstarch and water together. Add the mixture to the crockpot and stir.
  9. Step 5: Add Broccoli
  10. Stir in the broccoli florets and cook on HIGH for another 30 minutes, until the sauce thickens and broccoli becomes tender-crisp.
  11. Step 6: Serve
  12. Serve warm over steamed rice or noodles, and garnish with sesame seeds and green onions for the perfect finishing touch.
