Method
- Prepare the Beef
- Slice beef into thin strips and place into the slow cooker.
- Make the Sauce
- In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and gently mix.
- Slow Cook
- Cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the beef is tender.
- Thicken the Sauce
- Stir together cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
- Add to the crock pot and stir.
- Cook for 20–30 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add Broccoli
- Stir in the broccoli and cook for an additional 10–15 minutes until tender but still bright green.
- Serve
- Serve over rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice. Garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
Notes
Use low-sodium soy sauce to prevent the dish from being too salty.
Add broccoli only at the end to keep it crisp and vibrant.
For sweeter sauce: add 1–2 extra tablespoons brown sugar.
For spice: add crushed red pepper flakes or sriracha.
