Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk sugars, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
- Stir melted chocolate into the egg mixture until combined.
- Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently to form a thick batter.
- Scoop spoonfuls onto the baking sheet, spacing apart.
- Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until tops are crackly and centers are soft.
- Cool 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.
Notes
Do not overbake; cookies set as they cool.
Let the batter rest 10 minutes if too warm.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
