Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt chocolate chips and butter together until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a bowl, whisk sugars, eggs, and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  4. Stir melted chocolate into the egg mixture until combined.
  5. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently to form a thick batter.
  6. Scoop spoonfuls onto the baking sheet, spacing apart.
  7. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top.
  8. Bake for 10–12 minutes until tops are crackly and centers are soft.
  9. Cool 5 minutes before transferring to a rack.

Notes

Do not overbake; cookies set as they cool.
Let the batter rest 10 minutes if too warm.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
